Toucan Nation
Produced for Animal Planet and directed by Prime Time Emmy®-winning filmmaker Paula Heredia, Toucan Nation was first released in June of 2016.
This film, presented in association with H/3 Foundation and Humane Society International, chronicles the story of Grecia, a brave toucan in Costa Rica whose abuse prompted a national animal welfare campaign. In addition to showing how the Zooave Animal Refuge Center was able to help Grecia, Toucan Nation follows the fight of school children and a group of animal rights activists in creating a petition for President Luis Guillermo to bring the Animal Welfare bill in front of Congress. This remarkable story demonstrates how powerful a movement can become with motivated engagement and passion. Click here to watch an inspiring clip on this brave toucan. |
