So far, H/3 has been able to match $80,000 through its Hope Fund initiative. This partnership has provided support and financial assistance to families who cannot afford the full costs of veterinary treatment. Visit this link if you know of any companion animals that need assistance paying for a life-threatening condition.
H/3 also established Bond's Fund, named after a sweet and gentle male tuxedo cat who, after being found in a dumpster at age 14, was able to receive specialized treatment. Bond was able to live out his remaining year in comfort despite dealing with a serious eye condition that had resulted from numerous health complications. Bond's Fund was created in partnership with Frankie's Friends to provide companion animals and their families access to high quality veterinary eye care. Click here to read more about Bond's Fund.

H/3 and HSI Partnership in the BVI
"The BVI has always been a special community of generous and resourceful people, with a deep connection to the magical place they call home – and with the animals who share that home. Since I first visited many decades ago, the BVI and its people have favoured us with their friendship, hospitality and grace. So it is now our honour to be able to give something back – both in addressing an urgent, immediate need, but also as the first step in working together as a community to rebuild an even better BVI in the coming years. Having come to know the BVI spirit over the last 30+ years, I am confident that this community will emerge from this tragic period even stronger than it was before."

Following Hurricane Irma in 2017, H/3 Foundation partnered with Humane Society International to launch an animal rescue and relief initiative in the British Virgin Islands. The organizations supplied food, carriers, hay for farm animals, and equipment to support the rescue efforts. This program also evacuated lost and displaced dogs and cats, reunited families with their pets, and set up local veterinary clinics for emergency medical care and treatment. To help make evacuating with pets easier, the organizations also helped facilitate travel certifications that were required for the animals.

H/3 Foundation Sponsors Prosthetics for Best Friends Animal Society Pup |
Southern Utah University Press Release Dated June 21, 2021:
With the support of Bionic Pets and a generous donation from H/3 Foundation, three engineering students at Southern Utah University have designed prosthetic feet for a dog named Yeti, who lost part of his back limbs in a tragic accident as a puppy. The student team, including Najilah Jones, Morgan Hansen, and Cierra Salcido, began the process to help Yeti earlier this year. “This experience is a game-changer for the Engineering Department,” said Jones. “Not only is this an all-female group, but we were able to incorporate different disciplines, mentors, and methods within a single project, proving that there are no boundaries that can't be broken.” Yeti was adopted by his family from Best Friends Animal Society in August 2020. After major changes in their lives, Leslie Carney and her youngest son, Jacen, were ready to add a dog to the family as they moved forward. “I had so many new things on my plate already, I wasn't sure that adding a disabled dog was the right thing to do at this time. But something about Yeti just felt right,” said Carney. “I showed his picture and story to Jacen and he immediately responded that we could help this dog, maybe he needs us as much as we need him. I contacted Best Friends and the adoption process began.” Yeti’s family wanted to help him live a fuller life, and planned to eventually purchase prosthetics for him, however, an unexpected and generous donation from H/3 Foundation allowed the process to start much sooner.
